The 85-metre mast will be commissioned shortly before the turn of the year at 2,500 m above sea level and will provide reliable wind measurement data under icing conditions. An island supply consisting of photovoltaics, small wind turbines, battery pack coupled via an intelligent control system, supplies the heated sensors.

“Already during the construction, “Died Maros” (Russian: “Father Frost”) showed us its icy face, which was a challenge for everyone involved. The fact that the project was a success despite the short preparation time and the adverse conditions due to fog and snow is thanks to the combined efforts of all those involved, but not least also to our more than 30 years of experience, especially at complex sites,” sums up Florian Lachinger from the wind measurement team.

Energiewerkstatt e. V. would like to thank our client ContourGlobal for their trust, wish them a happy new year and look forward to further challenges in 2019.
