The current annual report 2024 on the activities of the IEA Wind Technology Program once again underlines the central role of international cooperation for a climate-friendly energy future. The report highlights the work of a total of 25 international research collaborations – known as tasks – ranging from the integration of renewable energies into the electricity grid to the use of wind energy for green hydrogen. The Energiewerkstatt is represented in two working groups and contributes know-how from theory and international practice and projects.
In view of geopolitical developments such as the re-election of Donald Trump as US President and the increase in extreme weather events , the report calls for consistent action: Europe must resolutely pursue its climate and energy policy goals. The technological focus is on the combination of wind energy with storage systems and the expansion of decentralized grid structures
The Annual Report 2024 summarizes the key results of the individual tasks and provides a compact overview of relevant research projects and international collaborations within the framework of the IEA Wind TCP. Those interested can download the current issue here – enjoy reading!
