Following the publication of the first version in 2018, the IEA Wind TCP recommendations have become a quasi-standard in the industry for ice fall and throw risk assessment. The site-specific consideration of risk makes it possible to implement projects even at sites that in many cases had to be ruled out due to previously common, blanket safety distances. Under the renewed leadership of the Energiewerkstatt, the document has been revised over the past 4 years and supplemented with new scientific findings as well as practical experience.
